Dave Konig
Dave is a New York City based EMS provider working in the field since 1994. Over the span of his career he has participated in some of the most historically significant "big ones" such as the 1999 New York State Ice Storm, the Crash of American Airlines Flight 587, he lead a strike team during the Hurricane Katrina relief effort in New Orleans, headed a task force during the Hurricane Rita relief effort in Texas, and is a September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack survivor. Additionally he has taken part in some of the biggest "planned" events including being a Deputy Incident Commander at Woodstock '99, supervised a task force for New Years Eve 1999 in Times Square, was a consultant for the Latrobe County Fair 2000, and was the Incident Commander for Rage Against The Machine's Rock The Bells on Randall's Island. In his free time he eats cereal.
A lot of cereal.
The Social Media Evangelist
Dave began his involvement in Social Media in November of 2005. His inspiration came from the time during his deployment in Sabine County, Texas for Hurricane Rita relief operations. During that time he would update the home office using an ongoing e-mail message chain that unofficially became known as The Sabine County Letters. Unknown to him, his e-mails had been forwarded and even posted at one location. The keen interest in these messages lead him to discover blogging, which was his gateway to Social Media.
Since 2005 Dave has been involved in Social Media aspects through the current major services and some defunct ones as well. During this time he has been able to hone the craft by testing out the theories of others, creating his own philosophies, and gathering a better understanding of the mediums involved through networking and practice.
